Ai generated sprites, a test
December of last year, I used stablediffusion to generate fruits and other random things. Also wrote some code to filter out obviously bad sprites as well as process them into the right size and colors via imagemagick. Just an personal experiment to see how well single sprites can be generated with current tech, you are welcome to make use of them.
Personally, I am not too impressed with the results, but I attribute this primarily to a stable diffusion model not specifically trained for this type of sprite art, it is also a very low final resolution which is awkward to get something that scales down properly to the right dimensions. Maybe next year things will improve.
These sprites don't follow any specific color palette, they were just reduced via the imagemagick command `magick input.png -colors 10 output.png`.
